Ethical Policy

Biosciences Research Reviews is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, research integrity, and transparency in scholarly publishing across the biosciences. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must comply with internationally accepted ethical principles, professional standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Research Involving Human Participants
Studies involving human participants, human data, or human biological materials must obtain prior approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent competent authority. Authors must clearly state the name of the approving body and the approval or reference number in the manuscript. Research must be conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable national or institutional guidelines. Informed consent must be obtained from all participants where applicable.

Research Involving Animals
Research involving animals must be reviewed and approved by a recognized institutional or national animal ethics committee. All animal studies must be conducted in accordance with established animal welfare guidelines and regulations. Authors must clearly describe ethical approval and the measures taken to minimize pain, distress, or suffering.

Clinical, Biomedical, and Pharmacological Research
Studies related to clinical medicine, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, or drug development must adhere to applicable ethical, clinical, and regulatory standards. Authors are responsible for ensuring participant safety, data confidentiality, and compliance with ethical and clinical research guidelines.

Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, and Biosafety
Research involving biotechnology, genetic engineering, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or advanced laboratory techniques must comply with institutional, national, and international biosafety and bioethics regulations. All necessary approvals and safety measures must be obtained and clearly reported.

Environmental, Ecological, and Field Studies
Research involving environmental sampling, ecological systems, biodiversity, or conservation studies must be conducted responsibly and in compliance with environmental protection laws and ethical research practices. Required permits and approvals must be obtained where applicable.

Data Integrity and Research Transparency
Authors must ensure the accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of research data. Any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or potential biases must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript.

Ethical Misconduct and Publication Ethics
Biosciences Research Reviews maintains zero tolerance for plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or any form of unethical research or publication practices. Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards may be rejected or retracted at any stage of the publication process.

Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
Authors submitting systematic reviews and meta-analyses are strongly encouraged to register their review protocols in recognized registries such as PROSPERO prior to conducting the study. Submissions should strictly follow the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, and where applicable, a completed PRISMA checklist should be included to ensure methodological rigor, transparency, and research quality.
