Refund Policy

At Biosciences Research Reviews, we aim to ensure a fair and transparent process for authors, readers, and contributors. Our Refund Policy is designed to provide clarity regarding any financial transactions associated with our journal, including article processing charges (APCs), subscription fees, or any other payments. The policy applies to any transactions involving payments for manuscript submission, publication, or access to journal content.

1. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Biosciences Research Reviews typically charges Article Processing Charges (APCs) once a manuscript has been accepted for publication. These fees cover editorial, peer review, and publication costs.

  • Refunds for APCs: Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication and the APC has been paid, refunds will not be issued except in exceptional circumstances. These include:

    • Editorial or Publisher Error: If the journal determines that there was an editorial mistake or failure in following the publication process, resulting in an error in the manuscript handling, a full refund may be issued.

    • Manuscript Rejection After Payment: If a manuscript is rejected after the APC has been paid, the author will be entitled to a full refund.

    • Withdrawal of Manuscript: If the author withdraws their manuscript prior to formal acceptance (before the peer review process is completed), the APC will be refunded, minus any administrative fees, if applicable.

  • Non-Refundable APC: Once a manuscript has been accepted and is undergoing final preparations for publication (e.g., copyediting, formatting), the APC becomes non-refundable.

2. Subscription Fees

  • Annual Subscription: For readers or institutions subscribing to the journal, Biosciences Research Reviews offers annual subscription plans for accessing content. Refunds for subscription fees are generally not provided once the subscription has been activated.

  • Refund Eligibility for Subscription: Refunds may be issued for subscription fees only in the following cases:

    • Payment Error: If an incorrect payment is processed or if a duplicate payment is made, a refund for the excess amount will be issued.

    • Unavailability of Content: If content access is unavailable due to a system failure or journal discontinuation, a refund for the period during which access was unavailable may be provided.

3. Cancellation of Manuscript Submission

  • Pre-Submission: If an author cancels a manuscript submission before the peer review process begins, any paid submission fees (if applicable) will be refunded in full.

  • Post-Submission: Once a manuscript has been submitted and is under review, submission fees are generally non-refundable.

4. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, authors or subscribers must contact the editorial office at Biosciences Research Reviews via email, clearly stating the reason for the refund request. Please include the following details in your request:

  • Name of the author or subscriber.

  • Transaction details (payment receipt, invoice number, etc.).

  • Reason for the refund request.

  • Relevant correspondence related to the request (e.g., acceptance/rejection of manuscript).

Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and a decision will be made within 14 business days.

5. Exceptions

  • No Refunds for Published Articles: Once an article is published online and made available to the public, no refund can be issued for any charges associated with the publication.

  • Non-Refundable Administrative Fees: Some administrative fees (e.g., manuscript processing, peer review costs) may be non-refundable, even if the manuscript is withdrawn or rejected.

6. Refund Processing Time

Once approved, refunds will typically be processed within 30 business days. The refund will be issued to the original payment method used, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties. Biosciences Research Reviews is not responsible for any processing delays by financial institutions or payment platforms.
